Curtis was a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and community member. He was born on February 18, 1947, in Lafayette. Curtis was a dedicated Master Welder, proudly retiring after 48 years in the oilfield industry. Following his retirement, he served with honor for a decade in the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office as a water patrol officer. His love for the water and the basin was matched only by his passion for the outdoors, where he found joy in hunting and fishing. He was also an exceptional cook and baker, known for his delicious bread and cinnamon rolls, which he generously shared with family and friends.
Above all, Curtis cherished his role as a father. He frequently remarked that his greatest accomplishment was his children. Known affectionately as “Pop” to many, he was a friend to all and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed but will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
He is survived by his children, James “Jim” LaGrange (Delores), Denise Andries (Tim), Lana Phillips (Mike), and Kim David (Celeste); grandchildren, Chase Le-Grand (Tiffanie), Kali Castille (Kaynon), Holly Billiot (Nathanial), TJ Andries (Nyla), Stacy Bush (Matt) and Tiffanie Bush; great grandchildren, Alaina Champagne, Cooper LeGrand, Isabelle Castille, Kohen Castille, Rin Stelly and Finn Stelly; his furry companions, “Ella” and “Moosie”; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Hidalgo LaGrange; parents, Andrew and Enola Patin LaGrange; and his brothers Russell La-Grange and Harold La-Grange (Letty).
