Born on March 15, 1952, in Arnaudville, Louisiana, Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose zest for life touched everyone around her. Peggy dedicated 33 years to Breaux Bridge Primary School, where her passion for educating young minds left an everlasting mark on her students. She recently retired, cherishing every moment she spent with the children in her classroom, who meant the world to her. Peggy was known as a fashionista; her love for shopping and reading were hallmarks of her vibrant personality.
Her family was her greatest joy. Peggy shared a particularly close bond with her sisters and her special friend, Diana. She held a special place in her heart for her late son, Butch, and proudly carried the number 55 in his honor. Peggy’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace, and may her legacy of love and compassion continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Norris Theriot, Jr.; daughters, Koty Knight and Milly Mullens (Cody); grandchildren, Kason Knight, Kade Knight, Calyn Mullens, and Michele Mullens; and beloved sisters, Vicci Thibodeaux (Ryan) and Jean Melancon.
She is preceded in death by her father, Clovis Hebert; mother, Clothilde Duplechein Baudin; son, Norris “Butch” Theriot, III; sister, Joann Polite; sonin- law, Heath Knight; and brother-in-law, Ellis Melancon.
Pallbearers were Kason Knight, Kade Knight, Cody Mullens, Jimmie Melancon, Ryan Thibodeaux, and E.J. Melancon.
