A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Rev. Jason Vidrine will officiate at the funeral service. Reader will be Jamie Martin. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.

Theresa was born on August 26, 1938 in Loreauville. She was a proud mother and grandmother and filled her days with countless treasured moments. She spent many happy hours playing cards, going to the casino, doing puzzles, dancing, and cherishing time spent with her grandchildren. Theresa will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dennis Melancon; her children, Jennifer Miguez (Gene), Kim Melancon (Janelle), Mike Melancon (Darlene), and Lori O’Neal (Sean); grandchildren, Mandi Scelfo (Jude), Ryan Miguez (Taylor), Blake Melancon (Angela), Chris Melancon, Joshua Melancon, Meagan Borel (Clay), Stephen Washburn, and Chad Washburn; and nine great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fernand and Stenie Bonin Segura; siblings, Elmire Lancon, Shirley Patin, Loverne LeBeouf, Allen Segura, and Murphy Segura; granddaughters, Trisha Melancon and Hailey Melancon.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Miguez, Blake Melancon, Joshua Melancon, Chad Washburn, Jude Scelfo, Mike Melancon, and Stephen Washburn.

Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Melancon and Clay Borel.
