Ronald was born on June 17, 1945, in Breaux Bridge. For 32 years, Ronald served as a bus driver for Cecilia High School, where he was not only responsible for the safe transport of generations of students, but also became a beloved figure in their lives. Known for his infectious humor and warm heart, he brightened the mornings of countless children, often cracking jokes that brought smiles to even the groggiest of faces. His laughter was a constant presence, one that echoed through the bus routes as he navigated his way through the traffic of everyday life.
In addition to his role as a bus driver, Ronald had a successful venture as the owner of Dejean Refrigeration for 25 years. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his dedication to his family. To those who knew him, Ronald was more than a businessman; he was a man who believed in community, building lasting relationships and providing not only services but warmth and friendship.
Ronald was passionate about traveling and embraced every opportunity to explore the world around him. He relished the freedom of motorcycle rides, where the wind against his face brought him joy and peace. A jokester by nature, he had an uncanny ability to lighten the mood, often delighting in the art of scaring friends and family, leaving them in fits of laughter. His spirit was infectious, drawing people in and comforting them like a warm embrace.
Ronald’s greatest legacy is found in the hearts of those who loved him. As a devoted family man, he held dear the bonds he formed with his loved ones and friends. While he has departed from this world, the fond memories of his kindness, humor, and passion for life will forever remain in the hearts of everyone he touched.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Leeanna Dejean; sons, Terry Dejean (Vickie), Shane Dejean and Neil Dejean (Leslie); grandchildren, Nicholas Dejean, Benjamin Gardemal, Lindsey Breaux and Gracie Dejean; and his greatgrandchildren, Noah Dejean, Reid Dejean, Maggie Breaux and Jade Guidry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Yola Dauphine Dejean; sons, Ryan Dejean and Quinn Dejean; and his great-granddaughter, Evie Breaux.
Pallbearers will be Terry Dejean, Shane Dejean, Nicholas Dejean, Benjamin Gardemal and Kale Miller.
