A visitation tookplace at Dion Hall on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
A rosary was prayed by Sim Courville at 10:00 AM on Saturday.
Deacon Russell Hayes officiated the memorial service. Readers were Jenna Courville and Tina Frederick.
Burial followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.
Shawn was born on July 9, 1973, in Lafayette. He was known for his work ethics and talents. He was a skilled carpenter who also worked with Wildlife and Fisheries, as well as having experience in the oilfield industry.
An athlete at heart, Shawn loved all sports and was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Always seen with a smile on his face, Shawn was known for his willingness to help others and brought warmth to those lucky enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Herbert “Bin” and Georgia Leger Courville; daughter, Jenna Courville; siblings, Shannon Stelly (Cornell) and Shane Courville; his companion, Christine Broussard; and three nephews.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dewy and Media Courville; maternal grandparents, Conrad and Edola Leger.
The family would like to acknowledge that Shawn gave the most precious gift anyone could give; the gift to save the lives of his fellow man through organ donation.
