lia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Katie R. Guidry, 64, who passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday. Msgr. Jefferson DeBlanc will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in lia. Katie enjoyed cooking, traveling with her family, going to the casino, and sewing for her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who loved her. Katie’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, and the love she had for her parents and her family was unconditional. She is survived by her husband, of 47 years, Robert “Tooby” Guidry of Henderson; son, Nicholas Andrew (Kristy) Guidry of lia; daughter, Danielle Faye (Jamie) Broussard of Henderson; daughter-in-law, Amanda Guidry; parents, Norman “Boy” and le Johnson Robin of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Thomas Guidry, Mary-Madeline Guidry, Sadie le Guidry, Amelia Ruth Guidry, Adalyn Guidry, Aubrey Guidry and Ryan Broussard; two brothers, Earl (Tina) Robin of lia and Danny (Joanie) Robin of Destrehan; and two sisters, Patty (Tommy) Girouard of Butte La Rose and Elizabeth (Carey) Johnson of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son, Marcus Daniel Guidry. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Andrew Guidry, Ryan Broussard, Danny Robin, Jamie Broussard, Dax Gary, Neal Guidry and William Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Guidry, Earl Robin and Carey Johnson. Pellerin Funeral Home of lia (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements. (Pd.Adv.)
