Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Jerry John Guidry, 88, who passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at his residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Rev. Austin Leger officiated at the Funeral Mass.  Scriptures were read by Arlene Angelle.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Jerry was a member of the Flaming Kajun Camping Club, McDonalds Men’s Breakfast Club, and was a former member of the Breaux Bridge Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Jackie Guidry Burdin and her husband Wade of Breaux Bridge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Wyatt Guidry; his parents, George and Noeda Guidry Latiolais; half-sister, Margaret L. Touchet and his half-brother, Ronald Latiolais.
Pallbearers were Brent Angelle, Derk Wyatt, Randy Rees, Scott Nicolle, Wade Burdin and John Chaisson.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
