’Bridge to get nearly $1 million of parish recreation bond

Breaux Bridge – St. Martin Parish officials are on a very pleasant mission as they make the rounds of municipal council meetings this month. They are notifying the various government bodies of the share of funding they will receive out of proceeds from the recently-passed bond reassignment.

Parish President Guy Cormier was joined by parish council members Albert “DaDa” Menard of Dist. 7 and Jill Hebert of Dist. 6 for that purpose at the June 13 Breaux Bridge City Council meeting. Breaux Bridge, with several well-used parks, has a $975,000 check waiting for it in the parish account. All that’s left to do is submit the required intergovernmental agreement and project list for the funds to be transferred.
