Qualifying open for St. Martinville mayor, council

Qualifying for St. Martinville's municipal election opened today (Wednesday) and will end Friday.
Candidates for mayor and the five city council seats may qualify with the Clerk of Court's Office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day.
The qualifying fee for all offices for registered Democrats and Republican candidates is $150. For all other parties or for no party affiliation, the fee is $75.
Candidates are reminded that the fees are payable only in cash or money order – check are not accepted.
Candidates must also present a valid picture ID when qualifying.
The election is scheduled for Saturday, March 26.
