Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Versie Mae Lalonde Robin, 90, who passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A rosary was recited on Sunday.
Rev. Gregory Cormier officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Paige Angelette and Kallie LaFleur. Gift Bearers were Ella Grace LaFleur, Hannah Taylor, Michelle Angelette and Keisha LaFleur.
Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Mrs. Versie enjoyed watching the Soaps, reading, sewing, picking pecans, baking, babysitting and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Latiolais and husband Terry of Arnaudville and Linda Taylor and husband Leland of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Michelle Angelette and spouse Greg, Brian Taylor, Scott Taylor, Terry Matthew Latiolais and spouse Tenneal, and Keisha LaFleur and companion Herman “Boonie” Hardy and his son, Jules; great-grandchildren, Paige Angelette, Dylan Angelette, Hannah Taylor, Peyton Taylor, Jack Taylor, Spencer Latiolais, Seth Latiolais, Kallie LaFleur, Ella Grace LaFleur and Jace LaFleur; and step great-grandchildren, Kabe Barron and Ryan Gautreaux.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abel Robin; parents, Olide and Eugenie Lalonde; brothers, Numa Lalonde, Allen Lalonde, Melvin Lalonde and Mitchell Lalonde; and sisters, Eula Hayes, Hilda Fontenot and Agnes Lalonde.
Pallbearers were Brian Taylor, Scott Taylor, Terry Matthew Latiolais, Dylan Angelette, Peyton Taylor and Spencer Latiolais.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Taylor, Seth Latiolais and Jace LaFleur.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
