Park maintenance, street signs discussed at Henderson meeting

Henderson — The Henderson Town Council focused largely on housekeeping matters during its October meeting, addressing street signs, park maintenance, utility improvements and other town business.

Park Commissioner Dale Duplechien discussed replacing street signs and making them uniform throughout the community. He also raised concerns about people parking under the park pavilion and discussed replacing aging trees with younger ones, possibly including fruit trees.

Entergy representative Jonathan Johnson briefed the council on the company’s resiliency initiative, outlining completed work and future plans for Henderson and the surrounding area, including utility pole replacements. The council approved hiring Becker and Hebert LLC to examine the annexation of land into the town. Members also approved and ratified the mayor’s signature on documents related to DOTD work to relocate a waterline as part of an ongoing road construction project.

The council also approved a recommendation to hire Joshua Reed as a new patrol officer for the town.
