Bridge to be replaced on Ches Courville Road

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the upcoming replacement of a bridge on Ches Courville Road, .10 miles south of LA 352 (Henderson Highway).

The project, part of DOTD’s Off-System Bridge Program, represents an investment of approximately $1.59 million.

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, November 2. The project includes the removal of the existing timber bridges, installation of a new concrete slab-span bridge, and associated roadway work.

Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Beginning Monday, November 2, at 8 a.m., Ches Courville Road will be closed to through traffic. The closure is expected to remain in place through May 2027, to allow crews to safely remove and replace the existing bridge.

No detour route will be posted, and emergency vehicles will not have access through the construction area. Motorists should plan accordingly and seek alternate routes.

The project is anticipated to be completed in May 2027, weather permitting.

DOTD appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during construction. Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling near construction zones.
