The Louisiana Agriculture Hall of Distinction is now accepting nominations for its annual induction ceremony, which will be held March 18, 2027, in Baton Rouge.
The nomination form can be obtained online at www.louisianaagriculturehallofdistinction.com or through any parish LSU AgCenter office. The deadline for receiving nominations is Nov. 20.
The Hall of Distinction is a cooperative effort of the Louisiana Radio Network, LSU Ag-Center, Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation and Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. It recognizes individuals who have had a profound effect on Louisiana agriculture or agricultural enterprises. Nominees can represent any area of agriculture or agriculture-related industries, including farming, ranching, aquaculture, fisheries, education and agribusiness.
“Behind every success in Louisiana agriculture are leaders who have invested their time, talents and passion in strengthening our industry,” said Matt Lee, LSU senior vice chancellor for agriculture and dean of the College of Agriculture. “The Hall of Distinction recognizes the leaders whose contributions have strengthened our industry and exemplify the innovation and service that continue to drive Louisiana’s impact at home and around the world.”
The three individuals inducted last year were David Cupp, a forester from Natchitoches; Rogers Leonard, the former AgCenter program leader for plant and animal sciences, of St. Joseph; and Jim Simon, general manager of the American Sugar Cane League since 2004, of New Iberia.
Since its inception, 40 individuals have been inducted into the Louisiana Agriculture Hall of Distinction.
