The True Friends of LaPoint awarded $4,000 in scholarships during the Albert P. Joseph Memorial Scholarship Ceremony on September 13. Recipients who were awarded a $500 scholarship included, from left, Gavin Gary, Braelyn Green, Ariyelle George, Kamryn A. Nora, Keynote Speaker Dr. Shirley Thibodeaux, Shanna LeBlanc, Journee Johnson, Brelle Hurst and True Friend President Jonathan Narcisse. Not pictured is Nyluh J’Nae Boutte. The memorial scholarship was established in 1991 to assist financially and academically deserving students. Since its inception, the True Friends of LaPointe and their sponsors have awarded more than $105,000 in scholarships. (Submitted)
