– Gunfire exchanged between two 19-year-old Breaux Bridge men on Sept. 21 led to both being treated for gunshot wounds, according to St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux.
Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched at 8:41 p.m. to the 1000 block of Juleau Champagne Road in Breaux Bridge after a call was made regarding a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
EMS transported the man to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
While deputies were en route, they were alerted by the local hospital that another 19-year-old man had been dropped off, seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. He also is listed in stable condition.
Investigators determined that gunfire was exchanged between the two 19-year-olds. The Sheriff’s Office is working to determine what led to the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
