Baja St. Martin

I’m going to start with apologies this week. Although I still don’t know why I have no birds or squirrels at my house and now only one hummingbird, I have to tell you that someone in the public works department at the court house was really nice enough to tell me she didn’t know why either but knew of friends who were having the same issue as mine. And I spoke to the man in charge of the mosquito control program, a Jesse ??? who was also really nice and assured me that the liquid his company sprays for mosquitoes is the same as they’ve been using for a long time so that wasn’t causing birds to disappear. I did tell him that the mosquitoes were really terrible, which he already knew.

So, after bothering a bunch of nice people, a hummingbird showed up at one of my feeders, drank a bit and disappeared. I still haven’t seen any squirrels. I guess there is some reason why the birds and squirrels are behaving differently, but I don’t know what it is and probably will never know.

Personally I wonder if the heat isn’t a problem. It is surely bothering me. And everyone I speak with tells me their electric bills are sky high. I keep reminding myself that I’m glad I don’t live in colonial days when there was no AC and probably no fans.
