Work began on the clearing of a 12-acre camping and recreation park in Henderson back in December 1973. Mayor Pat Huval (right), Town Clerk Dudley Patin (left) and Councilman Etley “Buck” Collette were on hand to direct the work along the boundary of the property located near the borrow pit canal on the southern edge of the town. On the dozer were foreman Adley Wyatt and operator Marshall Guidry.
