Henderson council holds brief meeting

— The Town of Henderson Council held a brief September meeting with a light agenda.

Guest speaker Kelli Cantu addressed the council about Chez Hope, an organization that provides emergency assistance, housing, support and advocacy for victims of domestic violence in St. Martin, Iberia, St. Mary and Assumption parishes.

Courtney Journet appeared before the council to request a variance that would allow her to remove a single- wide trailer from her property off Henderson Highway and replace it with a double-wide trailer. Mayor Sherbin Collette said he opposed granting the variance.
