Crowley – The Breaux Bridge Tigers played one of their best defensive games of the season on Friday in a 35-14 loss to the Crowley Gents on the road, head coach Tyler Pierce said.
“We got a touchdown off of a fumble recovery,” Pierce said. “It was actually a freshman, Ezra Alexander, that picked it up for about a 45-yard fumble return, which was our first points of the game. We had another freshman (Dakyrnn Gradney) made the big interception.
“We started six freshmen, played seven on defense, and three sophomores and just one junior and one senior, basically. We were clicking on that end. The offense is still struggling to get out of its own way. Some turnovers, some costly missed assignments just made it to where we could not get much going.”
