Stephensville - A large number of St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s office employees, Sheriff Beckett Breaux himself, Parish President Pete Delcambre and many others came to the site of the Lower St. Martin Parish substation on Hwy. 70 on Sept. 10 to join in the unveiling of the new substation.
Despite a slight drizzle, guests were able to step outside for the ribbon cutting next to a new memorial plaque and the flags.
Guests of honor were Warren Stephen Orlando, Jr. and Lisa Carriere Orlando who had donated the property on which the new substation stands. The property is valued at $80000 and the new 1400 square foot building, which replaced the older 360 square foot building, cost $250,000.
The new facility contains four offices, two restrooms and a large conference room, and will provide additional space for deputies and allow the sheriff’s office to strengthen its presence in the Stephensville and Belle River communities.

Substation
Sheriff Breaux presented the Orlandos with a plaque and many thanks. Mr. Orlando said he would be improving his own camp site along with a concrete drive and boat launch onto Belle River.
