Breaux Bridge – A search warrant obtained and executed by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Task Force led to the arrest of a 47-yearold Breaux Bridge man on multiple drug and related charges on Monday.
Sheriff Becket Breaux said that Earl Maiben III, 47, of Breaux Bridge, was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Castille Street.
The search warrant was obtained as part of an investigation conducted by the task force, made up of deputies and a Breaux Bridge Police Department officer.
The police department’s Violent Crime Abatement Team assisted with the execution of the search warrant.
During the search, agents seized suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, synthetic cannabinoids, marijuana, prescription narcotics and other controlled substances, along with approximately $3,764 in cash, a handgun and two digital scales.
Following the search, Maiben was taken into custody and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges: • LA. R.S. 14:95 (E) – Possession of a Firearm while Committing a Crime (1 count)
• LA. R.S. 40:966 (A) – Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I (2 counts)
• LA. R.S. 40:967 (A) – Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II (6 counts)
• LA. R.S. 40:969 (A) – Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule IV (1 count)
• LA. R.S. 40:1023 – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (1 count)
• LA. R.S. 40:1060.13 – Possession with Intent to Distribute a Legend Drug (5 counts)
