The St. Martin Parish Library is looking to make this a September to Remember as it invites residents of all ages to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month and discover all the opportunities waiting with a library card.
A library card is the user’s key to free access to books, digital resources, educational tools, programs and community connections, according to a press release from the parish library.
“From discovering a new favorite story and exploring eBooks to learning new skills and attending community events, a library card opens the door to endless possibilities,” the release said.
Library Card Sign-Up Month is celebrated each September to highlight the important role libraries play in supporting literacy, education, and lifelong learning.
Libraries nationwide use the month to encourage students, families, and community members to sign up for a card and take advantage of the many resources available.
“At St. Martin Parish Library, every library card creates a new opportunity for discovery,” Programming Manager Merinda Aubrey said. “Whether you are looking for your next great read, educational support, technology assistance, or a fun community experience, your library card is your ticket to it all.”
Library Card Sign-Up Month Highlights:
• Kids can get their own library card starting at age 4!
• Digital-only cards are available for instant online access to eBooks, audiobooks, databases, and other digital resources.
• Lost your card? No problem! Replacement fees are waived during September.
