Parks – Firefighters contained and extinguished a fire in a home in the were dispatched to a possible structure fire and reports of smoke inside a residence on Poydras Highway near Parks on Tuesday.
The firefighters were called with reports of a possible structure fire with smoke inside of a residence.
Upon arrival, a working structure fire was confirmed. The fire was located inside the structure, with heavy smoke coming from the attic.
Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire and extinguished it.
The St. Martin Parish Fire District thanked firefighters from its part-time staff, the Breaux Bridge Volunteer Fire Company, the Henderson Volunteer Fire Department, the Arnaudville Volunteer Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance Services, deputies from the Saint Martin Parish Sheriff‘s Office and the St. Martin Parish Emergency Dispatch Center for responding to the fire call.
