Lafayette – The three St. Martin Parish high school football teams will compete in the Kiwanis Jamboree in Lafayette this week.
Games will be Thursday and Friday at Cajun Field at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium on West Congress Street.
Cecilia High School will take on Lafayette High at 6 p.m. Thursday in the jamboree’s opening game.
The Bulldogs finished 7-5 in 2025, getting off to a slow start under first-year head coach Cody Champagne before going 4-0 in District 5-4A action to win the league title and enter the postseason as the No. 13 seed in Division II of the Non-Select football playoffs.
Cecilia beat No. 20 Carroll 56-7 in the first round and upset No. 4 Lakeshore 54-42 in the second round before falling to No. 5 Plaquemine 47-28 in the quarterfinals.
Breaux Bridge will play St. Thomas More at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the jamboree’s second game.
The Tigers finished the 2025 season with a 3-7 mark under head coach Tyler Pierce and went 2-2 in District 5-4A, winning two of their last three games to finish on an upbeat note.
St. Martinville will play on Friday, taking on Lafayette Christian in the final game of the jamboree at 9 p.m.
The Tigers finished 3-8 overall in coach Garrett Kreamer’s lone season with the team. Two of those wins came against parish rivals Cecilia and Breaux Bridge, giving SMSH the parish championship.
St. Martinville went 1-2 in District 5-3A and was the No. 24 seed in the Division II Non-Select playoffs, falling to No. 9 Jennings 56-18 in the first round.
SMSH will enter the season under head coach James Dartez this fall.
