St. Martinville – Veteran law enforcement officer Todd D’Albor, a native of St. Martinville, died Sunday at age 56.
D’Albor had been serving as the Chief of Police in New Iberia since 2017.
His 35-year law enforcement career began with the St. Martinville Police Department. After serving with the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Department, he returned to St. Martinville and was selected to attend the FBI National Academy (Class of 1999).
D’Albor also served with the Iberia and St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s offices and was appointed Chief of Police in Jennings in 2010 before being named New Iberia Police Chief in 2017.
D’Albor is survived by his wife of 29 years, Melinda H. D’Albor; children: Morgan L. Delcambre, Broc A. D’Albor and John W. D’Albor; four grandchildren; his mother, Patricia D. D’Albor; brother Troy D’Albor; and sister Joy Maturin.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with The Rev. Mario Romero as celebrant. Following the mass, the New Iberia Police Department will render full law enforcement honors.
