Henderson – The Town of Henderson council’s July meeting was brief, with only a few items requiring a vote. First, the council approved a resolution authorizing regulation of vegetation, including grass cutting, on commercial properties within town limits. Next, a vote authorized the mayor to sign a contract for a new generator at City Hall. The third vote approved hiring a local landscaping company to maintain the two roundabouts for an annual cost of $2,050.
During the meeting, attorney Jerry Mallett was asked whether the town’s Municipal Police Employees’ Retirement System (MPERS) issues were officially resolved; he said not yet, but that a resolution could come by the end of July. Parks commissioner Dale Duplechien updated the council on the pickleball and sand volleyball courts and announced the start of the permit process for the park’s first bonfires. The council also briefly discussed two properties owners had expressed interest in donating to the town.
