Lake Charles - Henderson Nina Water System Inc. received top honors at the Louisiana Rural Water Association’s Annual Award Ceremony, earning the distinguished title of 2026 Water System of the Year South. The award was presented on July 15, during the LRWA’s 40th annual Training and Technical Conference at the Event Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The LRWA awards program was created to recognize exceptional performance and dedication among Louisiana’s rural water and wastewater systems and the professionals who operate them. Selected from among systems, operators, and administrative personnel statewide, Henderson Nina Water System Inc. was honored for outstanding commitment to deliver safe, reliable drinking water and/or contributing to a cleaner environment through exemplary service in Louisiana’s water and wastewater industry.

These improvements were made possible largely due to the diligence and hard work of Ray Robin, the system manager when this all began. His desire to help everyone and improve the System drove him to do everything possible to make sure that this multi-phase project would become a reality. The System and community mourned Ray’s passing in 2022 and are forever grateful for his work.
The Louisiana Rural Water Association, a nonprofit organization established in 1978, provides critical support to small water and wastewater systems. Through specialized training and on-site technical assistance. LRWA’s work focuses on helping systems properly operate and maintain their facilities while navigating complex state and federal regulations. For decades, LRWA has served as a leading resource for rural communities across all 64 parishes, offering high-quality training, technical expertise, and educational services that promote public health and environmental protection.
