Since I don’t watch TV very often and almost never during the day, I didn’t even know a tropical depression was possibly entering the Gulf until my Florida daughter mentioned that she was getting her generator tuned up just in case. Mine is ready but I will check the fuel tank.
It is looking to be another hot day. I tried to get out early the other day to trim back the vines which are growing everywhere and I did mange to cut a few but the heat drove me back inside.
I’ve mentioned often that I take the dog to the Belle River boat landing since it’s too hot to go onto the levee. Sitting at the pavilion at the landing I’ve had occasion to visit briefly with people who are going out in the spillway to spend a few days at the Cajun Experience camp run by local man Stafford Cavalier. I’ve never seen the place and am not advertising for it exactly, but it’s obviously popular since I’ve chatted with people from all over the country coming to spend a few days at this camp. Testimonials online are pretty nice also. It’s been fun to visit briefly with people from California, New Jersey, and practically every state waiting for the boat ride to the camp.
