Kids hit swimming pool in St. Martinville for lessons, open swim
SUMMER FUN – Young swimmers enjoy play time in the shallow wading pool at the St. Martinville following swim lessons this past week. The pool is open with swim lessons starting at 10 a.m. Monday-Thursday and on Saturday and Sunday. Open swim time is from noon-5 p.m. and the splash pad, also part of the city’s Edna Landry Aquatic Park, is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. (Chris Landry)

St. Martinville – The City of St. Martinville’s swimming pool is open for young residents to cool off and enjoy the summer as part of the city’s summer recreational program.

Swim lessons are available from 10 a.m.noon Monday through Thursday and at the same times on Saturday and Sunday.

Open swim time at the pool is from noon-5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

The Edna Landry Aquatic Park swimming pool is located at 501 S. Theater St., between Berard and Honore streets.

The splash pad adjacent to the pool is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.

The city’s other summer programs also continue with basketball summer league continuing each Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Martinville Senior High School’s girls’ gym.

Swimming

Cultural camp resumes daily from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. starting July 20 with a sports camp at Adam Carlson Park, followed by a historical camp starting July 27.
