Parks mayor urges residents to report local issues

Parks — There was little for the Parks Village Council to debate or discuss at its first meeting of the new fiscal year on July 14.

Mayor Kevin Kately gave an update on the new well. He said workers installed the screen at the bottom to keep trash out, added the casing, and then put in the motor so water could begin to be drawn. The next steps are to test the water and add the filters, which he said should be completed soon.

Kately also said the village will build the structure around the well, along with the chlorination room and other related infrastructure. He said he hopes the well will be operational within the next month or two, after which the village can begin another round of replacing water meters.

The mayor also urged residents to report problems with water, the park, or other village issues by calling the office or using an online contact method so concerns can be addressed quickly. He said the village cannot fix issues if they only learn about them after the fact.

With no further business, the council adjourned until August.
