— The June town council meeting featured an executive session focused on Henderson’s ongoing dispute with the Municipal Police Employees’ Retirement System (MPERS). Following the session, the council authorized the mayor to accept a settlement to resolve the long-running matter. The settlement amount is $59,362.32. The mayor will review all required forms with the agreement and will consult the council during a special session to be scheduled later.
Nicole Angelle from the Early Childhood Program was a guest speaker, outlining the program’s activities and impact.
The council discussed procedures for the town’s maintenance crew to mow grass on adjudicated properties.

In other business, Jody Meche will step down from the budget committee, and Kirk Taylor was appointed to replace him.
Park Commissioner Dale Duplechien reported that bid solicitations are underway to remove a tree. He also asked the council to consider additional park amenities, including a pickleball and beach volleyball court, and a Christmas bonfire. The council approved the construction of the two courts and the bonfire. Construction is planned to begin after Thanksgiving, with the bonfire structure to be lit the Saturday before Christmas.
