Early voting ends Sat.

Early voting for the June 27 election will continue through Saturday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The ballot for St. Martin Parish voters includes party primary runoffs to decide the Democratic and Republican nominees for the U.S. Senate and a seat on the St. Martinville City Council.

In the Republican U.S. Senate race, U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow of Baton Rouge and State Treasurer John Fleming of Minden are facing off. The Democratic contest is between Tensas Parish farmer Jamie Davis and defense contractor Gary Crockett of New Orleans.

The party runoff winners will face each other in the Nov. 3 general election.

All parishes will have the Senate race on their ballots, but only registered Republicans, Democrats and no-party voters who chose to participate in the May party primaries will be allowed to vote. Those unaffiliated voters will get the same party ballot they selected last month.   St. Martinville voters in District 4 will decide on a member of the city council from Janise Anthony and Monica Charles, both democrats.

Early voting locations include the St. Martin Registrar of Voters Office, St. Martin Courthouse Annex, 415 St. Martin St., St. Martinville, the Sydnie Mae Durand Senior Citizen Center, 391 Cannery Rd., Breaux Bridge and the Stephensville Fire Station, 1227 Stephensville Rd., Morgan City.
