Beta Rho chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held its Sister’s Celebration on May 12 at El Corazon Restaurant. Chair of the event was Shirley Fuselier.
President Lynnie Bienvenu conducted a brief business meeting and called on the committee chair to give reports on the final activities of the sorority year.
Program chair Bobbie Theriot announced the final meeting of the year will be held on May 26th. Members will present a program on Exercise for Health and Pleasure.
Adopted Family chair Shirley Fuselier announced the chapter continues to support a local family monthly.
President Lynnie Bienvenu informed members that new committee chair will be announced and incoming officers will be installed at the May 26th meeting.
Treasurer Shirley Fuselier led members in the Beta Sigma Phi Grace.
President Lynnie Bienvenu presented gifts to members for their support during the sorority year.
Perfect attendance gifts were presented to Arleen Oubre, Bobbie Theriot and President Bienvenu.
Members enjoyed a program on My Sister, My Friend by each expressing thoughts on select statements about themselves. These included, “I look in the mirror and I see”, and “I have never...”.
Everyone agreed in celebrating the bonds of Beta Rho sisterhood we are a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, and a golden thread to the meaning of life connected by an invisible thread of love and understanding.
At the conclusion of the program members reminisced about the first Beta Rho Réunion of former members held in the spring of 1994 at Maison Duchamp. Sisters in attendance signed a book and gave their thoughts on what being a member of Beta Rho meant to them. A perfect ending to a program on My Sister, My Friend.
