BB man arrested on child abuse sexual material charge
– The St. Martin Parish Sheriffs Office arrested a 40-year-old Breaux Bridge man on Thursday on charges related to downloading child sexual abuse material. Sheriff Becket Breaux said that on Feb. 24, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding a subject downloading child sexual abuse material.
Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, identified the suspect as Scott Hebert Stewart, 40, of Breaux Bridge.

At the culmination of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained, and on April 9, Stewart was arrested and charged as follows:
• LA. R.S. 14:81.1 Child Abuse Sexual Material (3 counts) Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charge, and at the time of this release, no bond had been set.
The investigation re- mains ongoing.
