Maria Foti Matis was the guest speaker for the Beta Rho meeting held on March 30th. Matis presented a program on “How well do you know your city” as members toured the Villa Evangeline airbnb. Program chair for the evening was President Lynnie Bienvenu.

Matis explained Villa Evangeline is an ideal retreat for everyone. Guests can unwind and indulge in the stylish living spaces. It is an enchanting stay which blends luxury, convenience, and proximity to the many historical attractions and breathtaking city views.

Members viewed the three distinct living areas with beautiful antiques, a fully stocked kitchen and dining area with seating for 12. An outdoor patio with a beautiful fountain is welcoming for relaxation.

Everyone agreed Villa Evangeline is the place to get away as a perfect retreat enjoying a taste of history in historic downtown St. Martinville for an unforgettable experience.

Following the presentation President Lynnie Bienvenu conducted the business meeting and called on committee chair to report on activities for the end of the year.

Program chair Bobbie Theriot announced the next meeting will be held on April 13.

A guest speaker will present a program on Physical Environment: Planning for Beauty and Utility.

Founder’s Day chair Arleen Oubre announced the annual event will be held on April 27 at St. John Restaurant.

Adopted Family chair Shirley Fuselier announced the chapter continues to support a local family monthly.

Hattie B. Maraist Senior Girl Award will be presented by Beta Rho at the St. Martinville High School awards ceremony announced chair Bobbie Theriot.

The annual Sister’s Celebration will be held in May announced chair Shirley Fuselier.

At the conclusion of the evening members elected officers for the 2026-2027 sorority year. Newly elected officers are Lynnie Bienvenu, president; Bobbie Theriot, vice president and extension officer; Arleen Oubre, recording secretary and corresponding secretary; Shirley Fuselier, treasurer; Louella Champagne, civil defense; and Elaine Case, parliamentarian Members present for the meeting were President Lynnie Bienvenu, Shirley Fuselier, Arleen Oubre, Elaine Case and Bobbie Theriot.
