Breaux Bridge drug bust leads to seizure of marijuana plants and distribution materials

Breaux Bridge – Deputies with the St. Martin Par- ish Sheriff's Office seized 10 marijuana plants and 293 grams of marijuana while executing a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Leger Road in Breaux Bridge on March 31.

Sheriff Becket Breaux said the warrant was executed after the Sheriff’s Office received information about suspected illegal drug activity.

During the search, deputies recovered 10 marijuana plants, approximately 293 grams of marijuana, approximately 307 grams of suspected kief, which is a concentrated form of marijuana, along with a digital scale and a box of clear plastic bags consistent with drug distribution.

Following the execution of the search warrant, deputies arrested Oliver Lippy, 71, of Breaux Bridge, who was subsequently booked into the parish jail on the following charges:

• 40:966A(1) – Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I

• 40:983 – Creation or Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory for the Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

• 40:1023C – Prohibited Acts – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
