The Breaux Bridge High School baseball team won four straight games last week, including a sweep of Livonia in District 5-4A action.
The Tigers sandwiched a pair of fiveinning run-rule wins around the home-andaway series with Livonia, beating Berchmans Academy 15-1 on Monday, topping Livonia 4-0 on the road on Tuesday, edging Livonia 6-5 at home on Thursday and blasting Mamou 13-2 on Friday.
Cecilia and St. Martinville each went 2-0 last week. The Bulldogs swept Beau Chene in a pair of District 5-4A games and SMSH won its District 5-3A opener and picked up a nonleague win. For Breaux Bridge, winning pitcher Christian Camacho limited Berchmans to one run on one hit and struck out seven with only one walk given up in five innings.
The Tigers put up crooked numbers in every inning in which they batted, getting two in the first, two in the second, seven in the third and four in the fourth.
Nearly everyone in the lineup had a hit, led by Bryce Melancon, who went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs batted in and two runs scored. Benjamin Ellender and Caynon Ardoin each had a double and an RBI, Kyson Rebert had a hit and two RBIs, Caymen Theriot and Camacho each had a hit and an RBI, Evan Theriot drove in a run and Chase Broussard had a hit and scored twice.
Breaux Bridge scored three runs in the first inning against Livonia on Tuesday and got a complete- game shutout win from Bryce Melancon.
Melancon struck out eight batters, walked one and scattered six hits over seven innings.
Leading hitters for BBHS were Caynon Ardoin, 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Benjamin Ellender, 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Sam Armentor, Kyson Rebert and Christian Camacho also had hits.
On Thursday, BBHS held off the Wildcats for a second straight district win, rallying from a 2-0 deficit after one inning and a 4-3 shortfall after three. The Tigers scored one in the second, two in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth. Livonia had two runs in the first, two in the third and one in the seventh.
Sam Armentor went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Kai Lalonde went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Caynon Ardoin, Bryce Melancon and Kyson Rebert each added a pair of hits as BBHS piled up 14 hits.
Benjamin Ellender went 1-for-2 with a double, Christian Camacho went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Caymen Theriot also had a hit.
Armentor pitched five innings for the win, allowing three hits and one run with eight strikeouts and no walks. Ardoin and Camacho each pitched an inning, with Ardoin giving up two runs in two hits with three walks and a strikeout and Camacho allowing two runs on three hits with a strikeout.
Caynon Ardoin pitched four innings to pick up the win against Mamou, allowing two hits and one run with two walks and six strikeouts. Kai Lalonde gave up one run on two hits with a strikeout in one inning.
Ardoin went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Sam Armentor went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Kai Lalonde went 1-for-2 with three RBIs, Kyson Rebert had a hit and Charlie Frederick drove in two runs for the Tigers.
BBHS improved to 15-6 overall and 3-1 in District 5-4A.
Cecilia beat Beau Chene 12-2 in a District 5-4A game on Tuesday and topped the Gators 11-1 on Thursday to improve to 13-10 overall and 3-0 in district.
St. Martinville improved to 7-9 overall and 1-0 in district, beating Westgate at home on Monday, 15-12, then shellacking Abbeville 17-0 on the road to open 5-3A play.

The Cecilia High Lady Bulldogs won their only district game of the week this past Tuesday but went 1-3 the rest of the week, including three losses in the Lutcher Tournament.
Cecilia slammed Opelousas 26-0 in a District 5-4A game on Tuesday and beat David Thibodaux 17-8 on Thursday.
CHS lost to Haynes Academy 16-1 on Friday and to Archbishop Hannan 16-1 and to Lutcher 15-5 Saturday in the Lutcher tourney. The Lady Bulldogs are 9-9 overall and 3-0 in District 5-4A.
Breaux Bridge lost to Beau Chene 14-0 in a District 5-4A game on Tuesday and beat Highland Baptist 12-2 in a non-district game on Thursday to improve to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in District 5-4A.
St. Martinville lost to Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy 18-0 in District 5-3A action on Tuesday, fell to West St. Mary 22-17 on Thursday and lost to Vermilion Catholic 16-0 on Friday in non-district action, falling to 0-9 overall and 0-4 in district.
