The Breaux Bridge High School baseball team split a pair of District 5-4A games with Beau Chene this past week, falling 2-1 at home on March 10 before rebounding on Friday with a 10-2 road win over the Gators.
BBHS also beat Jennings 5-4 on March 9 to improve to 11-6 overall and 1-1 in district.
The Tigers scored five runs over three innings against Jennings to rally from a 2-1 deficit.
Benjamin Ellender went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Caynon Ardoin had two hits for BBHS. Sam Armentor and Charlie Frederick each had a hit and an RBI and Bryce Melancon, Kai Lalonde and Christian Camacho also had hits.
Armentor pitched seven innings to earn the win, allowing seven hits and four runs while walking two and striking out seven.
In the loss to BC on March 10, the Tigers surrendered single runs in the third and fourth innings while scoring only once, in the bottom of the second.
Kyson Rebert had both hits for the Tigers and the lone run.
Losing pitcher Bryce Melancon scattered six hits over seven innings, allowing two runs, neither earned. He struck out six batters and walked none.
The Tigers scored runs in bunches against Beau Chene on Friday, getting three in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth and two in the sixth. Beau Chene scored both of its runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Tigers collected five hits and took advantage of 14 free passes and seven errors by Beau Chene to win.
Kai Lalonde went 1-for-1 with three RBIs, Charlie Frederick had two RBIs, Chase Broussard had a hit and an RBI, Evan Theriot drove in a run and Benjamin Ellender, Caynon Ardoin and Bryce Melancon also had hits.
Ardoin pitched six innings to earn the win, giving up four hits and two runs with eight walks and 10 strikeouts. Hayden Stelly pitched the seventh, allowing two hits and striking out two batters.

Softball
The Cecilia High Lady Bulldogs went 2-0 this past week, beating Beau Chene 4-3 in a District 5-4A game on March 10 and overwhelming Eunice 10-1 in a non-district game on Friday.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-6 overall and 2-0 in district.
Breaux Bridge won a non-district game against Westminster Christian, beating the Lady Warriors 15-1 on Thursday. A District 5-4A game at Opelousas on March 9 was postponed. The Lady Tigers are 2-7 overall and 0-1 in district.
St. Martinville lost a pair of games, falling to Kaplan 10-0 in District 5-3A action on March 10 and losing to Highland Baptist 19-9 in non-district play on Thursday. SMSH is 0-6 overall and 0-3 in district.
