St. Martinville man arrested on several charges following search warrant execution

Breaux Bridge – Following an investigation into suspected illegal drug activity, deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Task Force obtained and executed a narcotics search warrant on Feb. 19 at Sunny Dee’s convenience store located in the 2400 block of Coteau Rodaire Highway in Breaux Bridge and arrested a 21-year-old man from St. Martinville on multiple charges. Sheriff Becket Breaux said that during the search of the property, deputies seized two 15 ml bottles of synthetic cannabinoids, one THC Vape Cartridge, one box of Tadalafil, two firearms, and $6,893 in U.S. currency.

The suspect, identified as Abdulwahab Saleh, 21, of St. Martinville, was arrested and charged as follows:

• LA R.S. 14:95E Illegal Carrying of Weapons LA R.S. 40:1060.13 Sale, Distribution, or possession of legend drug without prescription or order prohibited In conjunction with the ongoing investigation, officers from the Lafayette Police Department’s Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a property located in the 100 block of Grandmark Street. The subsequent search of the premises resulted in the discovery of a total of $164,187 in U.S. currency.

After Saleh’s arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges.
