State Rep. Chad Boyer was the guest speaker for the Beta Rho meeting held on February 23. Boyer presented a program on How Well Do You Know Your State? Louella Champagne was the program leader for the evening.

Boyer outlined the upcoming events in the legislature which convenes on March 9 and concludes June 1. Boyer discussed insurance and the competitive issue of increasing companies in the state and infrastructure. Boyer also discussed bringing new business to the I-10 corridor for Henderson and Breaux Bridge.

Members learned 162 bills will be presented in the legislature during the session. Boyer is a member of the Capital Outlay and Criminal Justice committees.

President Lynnie Bienvenu conducted the business meeting following the presentation and called on committee chair to report on activities to be held in the coming months.

Program chair Bobbie Theriot announced the next meeting will be held on March 9Tanya Kidder of YaYa’s Boutique will present a program on Creative Expression: communication, fine arts and crafts as forms of expression.

Adopted Family chair Shirley Fuselier announced the chapter continues to support a local family monthly.

Founder’s Day chair Arleen Oubre and Sister’s Celebration chair Shirley Fuselier announced both events will be held in the spring.

Members present for the meeting were President Lynnie Bienvenu, Louella Champagne, Arleen Oubre, Elaine Case, Shirley Fuselier and Bobbie Theriot.
