SM Rotary Club to celebrate 78th annual Mardi Gras Ball

St. Martinville — The St. Martinville Rotary Club will introduce its King and Queen at the 78th Annual Rotary Mardi Gras Ball on Saturday, February 14, at the Cade Community Center. Reigning over this year’s festivities will be King Rotary LXXVIII Logan Verret and Queen Rotary Anne LXXVIII Reese Kathryn Legendre.

The 2026 celebration carries the enchanting theme, “A Night of Romance at Bridgerton,” promising an evening filled with elegance, live music, and community spirit. The ball begins at 7 p.m. with the formal presentation of the royal court, followed by dancing to the sounds of 5th Avenue until midnight.

Tickets and reserved tables are available to the public. For purchases, contact Michelle Broussard at 337-523-2472. A public dress rehearsal will be held on Friday, February 13, at 7 p.m. at the Cade Community Center. Admission to the rehearsal is $5.

King Rotary LXXVIII: Logan Verret

Logan Verret, Facilities Supervisor for LFT Fiber, also serves as President of the Buck Barras Memorial Foundation, helping organize charity events such as the Potato Cook-Off, Masked Singer Event, and Poker Run. A graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Verret holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

The son of Shane and Laurie Verret, Logan has been married to his wife, Ashley, for three years. He enjoys hunting, gardening, woodworking, raising farm animals, and playing cards — particularly Friday night Bridge games with local friends, a pastime he deeply values.

Queen Rotary Anne LXXVIII: Reese Kathryn Legendre

Twenty-two-year-old Reese Kathryn Legendre is the daughter of Brandy Gardemal and Scott Legendre. A 2022 graduate of Loreauville High School, she was active on the dance team and the SMAFA Performance Team for eight years. She also cheered at St. Bernard School.

Reese attended the University of Louisiana Monroe before earning her Pharmacy Tech certification in 2024. She is now pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. A longtime participant in Rotary traditions, she began her involvement at age six and has served roles ranging from page to Queen Mother Carolyn Fuselier in 2011; Page to the Queen of Mardi Gras, Rotarian Linda Courville; to Princess Royale in 2023. She is the granddaughter of Rotarian Linda and Jerry Courville and Judy and Tommy Legendre.

The St. Martinville Rotary Club invites the public to join in this cherished celebration of fellowship, service, and Mardi Gras pageantry.
