SMSH drops district
game to ARCA, 50-45
St. Martinville Senior High fell to Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy in a District 5-3A game on Friday, 50-45.
The Tigers led 29-21 at halftime on the road but were outscored 2916 in the second half including scoring only 5 points in the fourth quarter.
Landon Potier and Ja’Korey Blanchard scored 13 points each to lead St. Martinville and Kervin Fontenette added 9 points. Blanchard had three of his team’s four 3-point baskets and Fontenette added the other triple.
Karter Domanter had 15 points to lead the Eagles. Karsen Buggs (13 points) and Kristian Aubrey (11 points) joined him in doublefigure scoring.
The Tigers blasted Erath 70-34 in a District 5-3A game on Jan. 27 but lost a tournament game to Ferriday at White Castle on Saturday, 60-42.
Cecilia won a nondistrict game against Acadiana on Jan. 28, 54-41, and beat Livonia 44-38 on Friday to remain unbeaten in District 5-4A at 3-0.
Breaux Bridge beat Beau Chene 48-38 on Wednesday in a game postponed from Jan. 27, but lost to Opelousas 67-51 on Friday in a pair of District 5-4A games. The Tigers were 1-2 in district heading into a home game Tuesday against Livonia.
