The three St. Martin Parish boys’ basketball teams are all bunched together in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings that determine which teams will earn playoff bids and where they will be seeded.
Cecilia (10-10) was 22nd with a 29.68 power ranking, St. Martinville (10-13) was 23rd with a 29.22 power ranking and Breaux Bridge (12-9) was 24th with a 28.63 power ranking in the Division II Non-Select rankings.
Twenty-eight teams will earn playoff bids in the Division II Non-Select bracket. The regular season is scheduled to end Feb. 21 with playoff pairings announced on Feb. 23. First-round playoff games must be played by Feb. 27.
If the playoffs began today, all three parish teams would open the playoffs on the road.
Cecilia would travel to face the No. 11 seed, currently Assumption High (19-6).
St. Martinville would travel to the No. 10 seed, currently Belle Chasse (17-9).
Breaux Bridge would travel to the No. 9 seed, currently DeRidder (176).
The regional (second) round games are to be played by March 3 with the quarterfinals to be played by March 6.
The boys’ Marsh Madness state tournament is scheduled March 9-14 at the Burton Coliseum Complex located on the campus of McNeese State University in Lake Charles.
