St. Martinville – A 33-year-old Breaux Bridge man was arrested Thursday in Lafayette in connection with a September 2025, physical alt ercation in Breaux Bridge between family members.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux said that deputies with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office assisted St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigators by executing a warrant of arrest for Denzel Helaire, 33, of Breaux Bridge, at a residence in Lafayette.
Charge
His arrest stems from an investigation regarding a physical altercation that occurred between family members at a residence in the 1000 block of Benoit Road in Breaux Bridge, on September 29, 2025.
Following his arrest, Helaire was transported to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he was booked on the following charges:
• LA. R.S. 14:27/14:30.1-Attempted Second-Degree Murder No bond has been set.
