The 88th annual St. Martin Parish 4-H and FFA Livestock show will be held on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16 and 17 in the Livestock Barn at Breaux Bridge High School.

The public is invited to come out and support the hard work and efforts of the over 50 St. Martin Parish youths that plan to exhibit an animal at this year’s event. In 2026, St. Martin Parish Livestock program continues to thrive with over 193 animals entered. Livestock program trends include an increase in cattle numbers with over 30 head of beef and dairy cattle expected to show. In addition, 50 hogs, 30 chickens, 20 goats, 6 sheep and 10 rabbits are slated for exhibition. This year’s show will be judged by Tyler Barlow, Central Region Livestock Specialist with the LSU AgCenter.

An abbreviated schedule of events includes:

January 16 (Friday)

• 3:00 p.m. Poultry Show • 3:15 p.m. Rabbit Show • 5:00 p.m. Sheep

Show & Goat Show January 17 (Saturday)

• 8:00 a.m. Swine Show followed by Dairy and Beef Show

• 1:45 p.m. Premier Exhibitor Winners Announced • 2:30 p.m. Livestock Sale

The annual St. Martin Parish Livestock Sale is an opportunity for the public and program supporters to help project members defray the cost of participating in the livestock program. Buyer registration will begin on Saturday at 1 p.m. A buyer meal will be available starting at 1:30 p.m. Last year, St. Martin Parish 4-Hers sold 24 hogs, 4 sheep, 1 goat, 2 rabbit meat pens and a pen of broiler chickens. An increase in show entries point toward this year’s sale having an even larger offering.
