St. Martinville – A 25-year-old Breaux Bridge man died from injuries in a single-ATV crash in the 1400 block of Bayou Portage Road, St. Martinville on Friday.
Sheriff Becket Breaux said in a press release that at about at 9:02 p.m. on Friday, January 2, deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in reference to a single ATV crash involving two individuals in the 1400 block of Bayou Portage Road, St. Martinville.
Deputies located two males who sustained injuries as a result of the crash, and both were transported to a local hospital.
Early on Saturday morning, deputies were notified that one of the two, Lane Smith, 25, of Breaux Bridge, died as a result of his injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
