Haik sworn in as District Attorney

SWEARING IN CEREMONY – Judge Wilbur Stiles of the Third District Court of Appeals, right, swore in District Attorney Michael Haik III, left, of the 16th Judicial District recently at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville. Holding the Bible was St. Martin de Tours pastor Rev. Jason Vidrine, who led a Mass before the ceremony with friends, family and associates looking on. Haik serves as district attorney for St. Martin, St. Mary and Iberia parishes in the 16th Judicial District, stepping into the role after former District Attorney Bo Duhé died in March. Haik had been an assistant to Duhé and served as Interim DA before running unopposed for the office in November.
