Business of the month The St. Martinville Garden Club has selected South Louisiana Community College (SLCC), located at 900 Moore Avenue, as the recipient of its December Business Beautification Award. The property features Chinese Holly, Chinese Fringe shrubs and a variety of maple trees. The Club is affiliated with District III of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc., the Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. (Submitted)
Jacob and Ivy Degeyter were among those who took part in a traditional Advent French and Creole singalong at Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site on Dec. 20. They tasted traditional gateau sirop and other treats, followed and sang along to carols and 19th century songs, then joined the cirle for traditional round dancing. (Submitted)
