An Article of Faith

Public schools in America have become a prime example of the devastating corrosion of the values and morals of our nation. After all, diabolic people know that if you can destroy the moral fabric of youth, you can literally destroy a nation. Vladimir Lenin declared, “Give me just one generation of youth, and I’ll transform the whole world.” Just recently a school district in New York forbids the starting of a “Jesus Club” in their schools. Their reasoning: Jesus is not inclusive! It’s fine to have a Satan Club, a Communist Club, or Trans Furry club, but certainly not a Jesus Club. But wait one minute, Jesus declared in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, ALL of you who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest.” Sounds totally inclusive to me.

Psalm 11:3 says, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The surest way to destroy anything is to destroy its foundation, the rest will simply collapse. The heartbreaking truth is that the destruction is not coming from an outside force, the rot is coming from within, just as Abraham Lincoln warned it would. In Revelation 2, Jesus has a reprimand for the church at Ephesus, but I believe it’s applicable to our nation. He declared, “Remember from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place— unless you repent. Due to God’s incredible blessings, America has been a blessing and a “light” to the entire world. Consider, we give the nations of the world more aid, food, and assistance than all the other nations combined! How did we come to be so blessed?

It’s simple, our motto tells it all: IN GOD WE TRUST! God has blessed us, One Nation Under God, like no other nation. George Washington stated, “We cannot rightly govern without God and the Bible.” John Adams explained, “Our constitution was written for a religious and moral people, and totally inadequate for the governing of any other.” First Supreme Court Justice John Jay declared, “Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind.”
