Louisiana French: Preserve & Evolve:
An exhibit by CODOFIL now through January 12. Louisiana’s French and Creole/Kouri-Vini languages have shaped our state immeasurably yet are often misunderstood. Get the facts about these languages, their place in the greater French-speaking world, and the efforts made by inspiring individuals to reclaim their heritage languages. December 8 thru 21, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Visit the Olivier Plantation Home circa 1815 and see lovely natural Christmas greenery and decorations from materials of the period. Scents of orange and clove add a festive aroma. On a guided tour, learn how the holiday was celebrated by in the mid 1800’s. Guided tours are available hourly Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm (no tour at noon).
